Don’t forget the original: new IPods may be launching tomorrow

Apple superfans noted a code in iTunes 12.2 indicating a new line of the classic equipment coming soon.

The iPod may be slightly forgotten but it is definitely not dead. Reports have surfaced that Apple may be launching a new line of the music-playing tools as early as tomorrow, July 14.

As Tech 2 reports, Apple has been focusing its main promotional pushes on its MacBooks and iPads. However, iPod lovers have reason to feel optimistic. Careful observers may have noticed a good sign in the recent launch of iTunes 12.2, which indicated a new line of iPod models may be on its way.

Allegedly, Apple will be offering new iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle in both classic and updated colors. The iPod touch will have updated hardware, whereas the smaller models will remain the same.

Apple launched Apple Music earlier this summer. Designed for all technology consumers, even those who don’t own Apple technology, the service allows for streaming music, personalizing a listening list, and connecting to artists and other users on social media. It is available in over 100 countries.

With the success of Apple Music, technology fans speculate the new iPods are part of an overall Apple goal to remember and re-highlight their focus on music as a key component of their hardware objectives.
