Teens slain by ex-cop father in New York raises huge amount of memorial

For reasons unknown, the father, who is an ex-cop in the White Plains community, allegedly shot the girls to death while they slept and then turned the gun on himself.

A fundraiser for Westerhester teens who were slain by their ex-cop father has brought in nearly $55,000 so far.

The online funding campaign using Gofundme.com for 17-year-old Alissa and 13-year-old Deanna Hochman, called the Alissa & Deanna Memorial Fund, was created by the Harrison EMS earlier this week after they were killed by 52-year-old Glen Hochman as they slept, who then shot himself to death last Saturday, according to a New York Daily News report.

It was a tight-knit community, and Alissa had even been a junior explorer for the station for the year. EMS headquarters had draped purple and black bunting across the building on Tuesday, which was used when a member of the service dies, according to Chief Joseph Bilotto.

It lets everyone know that “we’re a family in mourning,” Bilotto said.

Hochman was a 22-year veteran of the White Plains Police Department and was also one of the founding members of the EMS team. The murder-suicide rocked the Westchester community, which struggled to come to grips with why Hochman killed them, as well as the family’s pets.

Bilotto said the tragedy has “affected everybody,” especially in such a small community. Many people there had lived there their entire lives.

The girls are survived by their mother, 50-year-old Anamarie Hochman, and their sister, 22-year-old Samantha. They were staying with relatives as friends and family sent food to them throughout the day.

A wake will be held for the sisters from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Coxe & Graziano Funeral home, and a joint funeral is scheduled for Friday at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church.
