‘Steve Jobs’ biopic reveals cast list and plot details

Plot will focus on three iconic moments.

The Steve Jobs biopic from writer Aaron Sorkin has been floating around town for months. It was originally set to be directed by David Fincher and star Christian Bale.

Now it will be directed by Danny Boyle and star Michael Fassbender.

Universal has just announced that filming has begun on the delayed Steve Jobs biopic.

The studio also revealed the official title of the film: “Steve Jobs.” and have released an official logline: ‘Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, the film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

This will not be the first film on the life of Steve Jobs. In 2013, Ashton Kutcher, played the Apple Cofounder, chairman, and CEO in the film Jobs. It was not well received and is sitting at 27% on rotten tomatoes.

With Aaron Sorkin at the pen, we know we can expect a strong script. He has previously written Oscar nominees The Social Network and Moneyball.

  • Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brenna, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend and mother of his child
  • Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, an original Apple Macintosh development team member
  • Perla Haney-Jardine, Ripley Sobo, and Mackenzie Moss as Jobs’ daughter Lisa Brennan at various stages of her life
  • Sarah Snook as Andrea Cunningham, project leader of Apple Macintosh
  • Adam Shapiro as Avie Tevanian, Apple Computer Senior VP of Software Engineering
