Lindsay Lohan includes meeting fans as part of her court-ordered community service

The Mean Girls actress must fill 240 hours of community service to meet probation requirements.

Community service does not seem like too complicated of a concept. TIME Magazine reports troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, 28, has angered lawyers by including meet-and-greet times with fans as part of her mandatory community service hours.

As part of a probation requirement for her reckless driving charge in 2012, Lohan was assigned 240 hours of time spent benefiting her community. TMZ reports the due date to complete the work was originally November 6, 2014, but Lohan received an extension from the court. The proper number of hours were finally certified Tuesday by Community Service Volunteers in London, and her attorney Shawn Holley personally delivered the documents in a court hearing on Wednesday January 29.

Unfortunately for Lohan, prosecutors are finding some of her service claims dubious. One claim that is earning skepticism is Lohan’s inclusion of time spent interacting with fans outside of the theatre in which she was performing. Lohan spent time on a London stage in 2014, performing in a play called Speed-the-Plow, and apparently considered some moments with her fans as benefiting the community.

Lohan also included time in which fans were allowed to shadow her as part of her community service, which she claimed to have finished in nine days.

Prosecutor Terry White disagreed with these list items, saying, “I’d love to hang out with a celebrity all day and see their life, but that’s not community service.” White has been granted until February 18 to verify the validity and volume of Lohn’s community service.

Lohan allegedly faces jail time if attorneys find she did not fulfill this probation requirement.
